Call for Paper & Presentation Abstracts

SAVE International is soliciting presentations/papers for the 2008 Annual Conference to be held in Reno, Nevada. We have introduced a change in the process to solicit and submit a topic to be presented at the conference. This year we will augment our traditional abstract-paper-presentation submissions approach with presentation-only submissions. This change allows those of you who have much to share with the membership, but may not feel comfortable writing a paper, or just may not have the time to devote to preparing a complete paper, the opportunity to share your knowledge with others at the conference.
You will be required to select one of two options:
• Submit the expanded “Call for Presentation Abstracts”. You will be eligible to make a short presentation (if selected), but will not be required to submit a paper.
• Submit the traditional “Call for Paper Abstracts”. You will be eligible to make a presentation (if selected) and submit a complete paper, as has been the traditional conference approach.
The first approach is for those who do not intend to submit a formal technical paper. You will be required to complete the “Call for Presentation Abstracts”, which will be used to evaluate and select the presenters. This submission requires additional detail, compared to our standard paper submission, to provide the conference attendees with an outline of the presentation and a synopsis of your conclusions. These presentations will be limited to 30 minutes. Additionally, these presenters will be required to bring copies of their presentation for conference attendees.
The second approach will be to write a complete paper and submit it by the required deadline. The presentations will be either 30 or 60 minutes in length, including 10 minutes for questions and answers. The papers will be included in the conference proceedings, be eligible for re-publication in other SAVE International media, if suitable, and be considered for a SAVE International award. We would recommend that the speaker bring copies of his or her actual presentation for the attendees, but it is not required.
We are excited about this new approach. We’re sure that it will bring some additional fresh and innovative submissions and presentations to the 2007 conference.
