Senior Value Engineer – Herndon, VA

Key Responsibilities
- Expand marketing and sales of Value Engineering (VE) services to federal, state, and local clients.
- Support the expansion of MACTEC services in related areas, e.g., LEED, LEAN, Six-Sigma, Commissioning, CM, etc.
- Lead proposal development for new work.
- Lead VE studies and prepare VE reports for commercial buildings or other construction-related projects.
- Conduct training workshops.
- Recruit and hire new staff to support growth.
Basic/Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering or Architecture required; MS preferred.
- Licensed PE or Registered Architect desirable.
- CVS preferred; AVS required.
- 10+ years experience in VE and related services.
- VE experience as team leader and member on buildings, transportation, and infrastructure.
- Experience with federal agencies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and MS Office capabilities.
- Willingness to travel (est. 25%) and management experience desired.
- Must pass drug test and background check, and have a satisfactory driving record, in accordance with the Company’s driving (MVR) policy.
Physical Requirements
1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
- Climbing on occasion: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.
- Walking on occasion: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
3. VISUAL ACUITY
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS
- None: the worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
